THE WOODCOTE × POL ROGER

A Champagne Evening in the South Downs

Join us for an elegant and thoughtfully composed evening on Thursday 23rd April, where seasonal British cooking is paired with the timeless style of Pol Roger Champagne.

Guests will gather from 6:30pm in the bar for a glass of Pol Roger Réserve and canapés, setting the tone for the evening ahead.

At The Woodcote, our menus are guided by the landscape around us - shaped by local farmers, fishermen and the rhythm of the seasons. For this special evening, a five-course tasting menu built around seasonal British ingredients will be paired with a selection of Pol Roger cuvées, chosen to complement the dishes with clarity and balance. A representative from Pol Roger will be with us throughout the evening, introducing the house and sharing insights into the Champagnes being served.

Pol Roger, a family-owned house in Épernay since 1849, is known for its quiet craftsmanship and enduring style - a natural complement to our understated, ingredient-led approach. Long admired in Britain, and most notably enjoyed by Winston Churchill, the house has an enduring connection to British dining traditions.

A relaxed and quietly celebratory evening, set against the calm beauty of the South Downs.
